Introducing the Sungrow HV Batteries 9.6-25.6kWh:

  • Easy Installation Compact and lightweight for single-person installation. Plug and play design with wiring-less module connections.

What the figures mean

Usable energy
You can draw this much energy back out. The usable and nominal figures are the same here, because the depth of discharge is 100%. Sungrow measures it at 25°C at a full 100% discharge at a 0.2C charge and discharge rate.
Rated DC power and max. charge/discharge power
Two ways of writing the same 30 A continuous current: rated DC power is 30 A at the model’s nominal voltage, and max. charge/discharge power is 30 A at the top of its operating voltage window. The only short term rating Sungrow publishes is a current, 42 A for a 10 second pulse.
LiFePO4 prismatic cell
Sungrow lists lithium iron phosphate cell chemistry, paired with over and under voltage, over current and over and under temperature protection, plus a DC breaker.
IP55
IP55 is an enclosure rating for dust and water. Sungrow lists the battery for indoor or outdoor installation, on a floor stand, at up to 2000 m altitude.
Natural convection cooling
Sungrow lists the cooling method as natural convection, which is passive. The operating window is 0 to 50°C when charging and -30 to 50°C when discharging.

Who it is for

It suits a home adding storage alongside a separate battery inverter, and anyone who wants to start small and add modules later.
