What the figures mean
- Usable energy capacity
- How much stored electricity you can take back out of one battery module: 5.2 kWh of the 5.38 kWh in a BAT 5.0, or 7.8 kWh of the 8.06 kWh in a BAT 8.0. Sigenergy measures it at 100% depth of discharge, at a 0.2C average charge and discharge rate, at 25°C, at the beginning of life.
- Cycle life of 10000
- One cycle is a full charge and a full discharge. The battery cell manufacturer supplies this figure, tested at 25 ± 2°C at a 0.5C charge and discharge rate, to the point where the cell holds 60 per cent of its original capacity.
- IP66
- IP66 is a rating for dust and water. The first 6 means no dust gets in at all, and the second 6 means the unit withstands powerful water jets from any direction. Sigenergy applies it to the controller and the battery as a system rating.
- Disruption time of backup switch, 0 ms
- There is no measurable gap on the load side when the grid drops out. This only works if a Sigen Energy Gateway is installed with the Sigen Energy Controller and Sigen Battery. Sigenergy’s stated test condition is the grid open circuit with the controller rated above the total home load.
- MPP trackers
- Each tracker manages one solar string, and the models in this range carry between two and four of them. Each is limited to 16 A input and 20 A short circuit current.
Who it is for
It suits a household bringing solar, storage and car charging into one system, on single phase or three phase.
Backup performance and savings depend on how the system is designed around your bills, your roof and your switchboard. We assess real bills and real data, and we do not estimate.
